The 1980's SLC is an elegant coupe from the German marque but needed some upgrading to make it a super autobahn stormer.
The first step was to add a set of Fifteen52 Bergmeister alloy wheels and low profile performance tyres to replace the fairly lacklustre originals. Once the stance and ride-height of the car was set, the front and rear wheel arches were widened with touring car style extensions but integrated into the panels rather than bolt on. This gives the car a more elegant, smooth and production car appearance. The bumpers were replaced with smoothed, moulded one-piece versions integrated into the now deeper front spoiler and rear valance with a chrome trim.
The front grill was thickened and a larger, more modern badge added. The quad headlights were upgraded into carbon housings with ring style running lights and clear lens indicator units. The rear of the car was treated to a chromed rear bootlid spoiler and slanted twin exhaust tips.
The interior has benifitted from a modern style Mercedes curved and deepened leather trimmed dashboard with a brushed aluminium trim that runs right from side to side and then down the piano black bespoke door handles. Integrated into the upper corners of the dashboard are a pair of pop-up Bang and Olufsen speakers. The piano black centre console with metal trim and grab handle has been fitted with a later Mercedes specification air-con unit and Apple Play headunit. The instruments and electronics were lifted from the later Mercedes but fitted with newly designed graphics.
The car is fitted with a custom set of leather seats trimmed in plain grey /air-tex leather in a period style but with additional support and electric controls and embossed headrests front and rear. The base and back sections of the seats are a hexagonal pillow embossed designed and manufactured for this car.
Additional design features are chrome and rubberised floor protector plates and pedals along with a dual colour leather custom Nardi steering wheel. The rear of the front seats have been indented at the rear to allow the rear seat passengers greater leg room and the whole roof lining will be matching air-tex leather.
Along with the instruments and electronic components, the Mercedes AMG donor cars engine will be fitted to this car giving it the performance to match it's new looks.
